Watch runoff first

If water is leaving the area before it soaks in, more runtime is not always the answer. Cycle-and-soak thinking often works better than one long watering period.

Check the stressed spots

Dry areas, hot reflected surfaces, compacted soil, and slopes can change what the landscape needs even within the same yard.

Use visual feedback

Plant response, runoff, and turf stress usually tell the truth faster than a generic schedule copied from somewhere else.
